Waiting For The Tow Truck To Arrive? Here Are 3 Things You Should Do
Posted on: 11 February 2020
You will want to make sure that you are prepared with the knowledge of the things you should do while awaiting the arrival of the tow truck. Whether you are near the towing services company or not, depending on how busy of a night they are having, you might have a little bit of a wait before the truck arrives. Therefore, you will want to make sure that you are taking advantage of the time you have to prepare for their arrival.
Put Out Emergency Signals
This could be bright orange cones or triangles that you will set out behind your vehicle. It could also be some flares that came in your roadside emergency bag that you keep in the trunk. Either way, your goal is to make sure that you are making it obvious to those coming down the road that your vehicle is there off to the side, unable to move.
Clean Up The Stuff Inside The Vehicle
You could go all out and clean out all of the trash from in the car so you can give a good impression. However, the tow truck driver is not going to do much looking around in your vehicle. You will want to clean up or secure anything that might fall over and spill or break when your vehicle is pulled up onto the tow truck.
Find Out Where The Vehicle Needs To Go
When the tow truck arrives, you will need to give them the address of where you want your vehicle taken to. This could be your home or your mechanic's shop. If you do not know the physical address of your mechanic's shop, you should be able to find it online. Also, you will want to start trying to get ahold of a friend or family member that can pick you up. This way, you can ride with the tow truck driver to the mechanic's for the drop-off and you can be picked up from there. Another option is to have someone meet you at your broken-down vehicle and take you home once you have given the tow truck driver your keys and the address where the vehicle should go.
As you can see, there are a few things that you will want to do while you sit and wait for the tow truck to arrive. All of this will help the process run a lot smoother for you.
